Melbourne Concerto – Barry Cockcroft, SOS Orchestra, Alain Crepin

My composition Melbourne Concerto from the performance at the 18th World Saxophone Congress in Zagreb, Croatia with SOS Saxophone Orchestra (Slovenia) conducted by Alain Crepin (Belgium). Many thanks again to Lev Pupis and this tremendous group that I had to pleasure to work with in Zagreb. The orchestral part is by no means easy and they completely nailed it! It was also really special to work with Alain Crepin, who beside being a legendary conductor is also a superb composer and saxophonist. During the congress I had chance to perform one of Alain’s new works too – a great exchange.

This recording wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing work of Daniel Durán and his hard working team at adolphesax.com. Thanks Daniel!

Melbourne Concerto – Composed and Performed by Barry Cockcroft

My composition the ‘Melbourne Concerto‘  performed in Bled, Slovenia with two superb saxophone quartets – 4saxcess,  Slovenia and the Budapest Saxophone Quartet, Hungary. This arrangement was adapted from my orchestral version, especially for the 2018 AS Festival. A special thanks to my friend Lev Pupis for putting this stellar group together.
